Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about our leather repair and restoration service across the Scottish Borders. Still unsure? Just ask.

Can you really make the repair invisible?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. We rebuild and re-texture the damaged area, then colour-match it to the surrounding leather so the repair blends into the grain. On well-worn or unusual finishes we'll always tell you honestly what result to expect before we start.
How much does leather repair cost?
Every job is different, so we give you a free, no-obligation quote first. As a guide, a professional repair typically costs a small fraction of reupholstering or replacing the item, often the reason people are so glad they called.
Do you come to me?
Yes. We're a fully mobile service. Most repairs are carried out at your home or business, so there's no need to lift a sofa or leave your car off the road. We cover the whole of the Scottish Borders.
How long does a repair take?
Many repairs are completed in a single visit, often within a couple of hours. Larger restorations or full colour work can take longer, and we'll always let you know the timescale when we quote.
What types of leather can you repair?
Most types, including aniline, semi-aniline, pigmented and bonded leathers, across furniture, car interiors, bags, jackets and more. If you're not sure, send us a photo and we'll advise.
Can you fix faded or discoloured leather?
Absolutely. Colour restoration is one of our specialities. We clean, re-pigment and seal faded or patchy leather to bring back a rich, even tone, or change the colour entirely if you'd like.
Do you repair car seats and steering wheels?
Yes. We restore leather car seats, bolsters, steering wheels, gear surrounds and door cards for private owners, dealerships and the motor trade, usually on your driveway.
Is the repair guaranteed?
Yes. We stand behind our workmanship. If you're ever unhappy with a repair we've carried out, we'll put it right.
Is repairing leather better for the environment?
Very much so. Leather is a natural, long-lasting, biodegradable material. Restoring what you already own keeps it out of landfill and avoids the waste and plastics of buying new. Fix it, don't throw it away.
How do I get a quote?
The quickest way is to call or text us on 07564 126562, or send a few clear photos of the damage by email or Facebook. We'll come back to you with an honest price, free of charge.
